As we prepare for a New Year, I can’t help but think about the New Year’s kiss which reminds me of a video Aaron made for me when we first started dating, which documented one of our first kisses.

It was after our third date (where we saw Zadie Smith speak at NYU) and it was late. Aaron invited me up to his apartment and I was nervous so began showing off this vintage jacket I was wearing. It’s silly, yet sweet that he documented this moment.

I am deeply humbled that my little love story with Aaron Tredwell has the potential to reach the hearts and minds of millions, and hopefully in effect will help shed light on what it means to be human and yes, transgender.
