I support Spirit Day because I know all too well how it feels to be isolated, young and trans - experiences I have detailed in my latest post for the Huffington Post. 

I believe that by amplifying our voices and sharing our truth, in its wide array of brilliant colors, we learn to accept and embrace one another. I urge you to wear purple Oct. 19, and then show your more active colors on the 20th and beyond.
